Pig Feed Bins/ Fill Systems

Feed needs to be stored in a place that's protected from the elements, right? Well, our bins offer you the most efficient way to manage your feed and we've got them in various sizes to best suit your needs. Feed needs a way to get to the feeders, right? Well, you're in luck because we've got fill systems that will make sure your birds have plenty of fresh food when it's needed. VAL-CO Feed Bins and Fill Systems are the perfect complement for your VAL-CO Feeders.

Feed Bins

VAL-CO Bulk Storage Bins are the ideal structure to protect feed from weather. The weather tight die formed roof has reinforcing ribs at the seams for added strength and ease of assembly. The 22" diameter, warp resistant top lid closes tight to keep out moisture. Bin bolts have a built-in weather seal and a drip edge keeps water away from the taper hopper and unloading boot. And with a 60° taper hopper on the 6 and 9 FT bins and 67° on the 7 FT bin, our bins really perform. The tapers are offset to allow smooth feed flow and the top lid operates smoothly with either the chain or the pinch-lock opener.

If strength and durability are important to you (as they should be), VAL-CO bins are tough! Bin sheets are made of heavy gauge G-90 galvanized steel with 2-2/3" wide by 1/2" deep corrugation. Legs are die formed with a sturdy bracing system for structural support. High strength bolts are used throughout VAL-CO bins. It just doesn't get any better.

Boot collar is included with all 16" opening bins listed above. 6 FT and 9 FT' diameter bins are also available in 25" opening which requires an optional boot adapter. Ladders and other accessories are optional and should be ordered separately. NOTICE: All feed bins are designed for the storage of free-flowing material only. Soybean meal, meat scraps, and certain other materials are not considered to be free-flowing and should not be stored in these bins.

Components

Flexible Auger

Flexible Auger for Low Volume, Standard Volume, High Volume, as well as high Moisture (up to 25°) and pellet applications.

Boots

Choose single 30°, single straight, or double straight poly upper boot transition. Lower boots (unloaders) are available for single, double or twin directional installations. All boots have a handy cleanout door.

Poly Drop Outlets

Three sizes are available with shutoffs and a variety of options to meet most any requirement.

Controls

Mechanical and electronic switches offer reliable system control — and the VAL-CO maximum run timer helps protect against feed wastage.

Discharge Heads

Discharge Heads with safety shutoff come prewired or water resistant. They are available in single or double line — and are a strong platform for gear or belt drive (not shown).

Chain Disk Feed System

With VAL-CO's highly adaptable Automated Feed Delivery System, you can decrease feed particle separation and damage to expensive pelleted feed. This chain and disk feed transporting system helps improve sow condition and breeding and it helps produce healthier, heavier pigs at weaning. VAL-CO's low maintenance chain disk feed system not only reduces labor costs, but also reduces animal stress with reduced human interaction. Model 770 Volume Drop

The Sure-Drop Model 770 Series 10 LB Volumetric Feed Drop controls feed rationing during breeding and gestation. These volume drops are easy to install, even on existing auger lines. The translucent body, with calibration marks, allows visual inspection of the feed level and settings of feed delivery. A simple adjustment for calibration with a durable slide handle allows individual rationing of approximately 2 to 10 LB per drop. This volume drop would be a perfect complement to our Chain Disk Feed System.

FlexTra™

VAL-CO's user-friendly FlexTra™ Feed System Controller, with it's advanced microprocessor design, provides intelligent control and monitoring of feed systems. FlexTra™ controls and monitors feed auger Run Times and Delay Times as well as sensing and controlling feed levels. With the built-in audible alert and flashing display, it will let you know when Run Time is excessive (indicating an empty bin or briging) or when Full Time is excessive (indicating blockage or sensor malfunction). It will even display and record total feed auger run time, to help you keep track of history. The FlexTra™ unit also provide flexibility in that it can be ordered for 1, 2 or 3 motor feed systems and can operate single or three phase motors.
